EFT Supervision
Want to get Certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy?
This is your next stop!
In order to get certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, all therapists must complete a minimum of 8 sessions with an EFT Supervisor. Up to half of these may be done in group EFT Supervision, but the others must be individual EFT Supervision. In EFT Supervision, you’ll get focused feedback on your strengths and growth edges. Together, we will find your superpower and grow it while also pushing you to your own leading edge in how you work with couples.
The first thing we’ll work on is our alliance. Supervision can be even more vulnerable than the therapy space, so I prioritize alliance first. I’ll want to hear where you are in your EFT journey, hear about your goals, ways you best learn, and what you need in order to maximize your safety with me in supervision.
Conceptualization is an important part of EFT Supervision. I will help you get clear on where you are on the EFT Map, how attachment theory is showing up in your office, and each partner’s position in the negative cycle. But this is not a grad school classroom! I won’t spend too much time “teaching” you these concepts because I want them to install in your own body, and that only happens experientially. So we will role play in supervision! If you’re feeling stuck or unsure how to get movement with a stuck client, we will process it briefly and then jump into a role play to let your body experience success with your interventions.
You have some options with what EFT Supervision looks like. You can get some therapist friends together and do group supervision if you want to learn alongside others. Group supervision requires a minimum commitment of four months to ensure group cohesion and continuity of growth. Group supervision requires a minimum of 3 participants to make up a group. We will meet twice per month for 90 minutes each time and the cost will be $100/month per participant.
Or if you want more individualized, focused supervision, you can schedule EFT Supervision sessions just one on one. Ideally, we will set up a regular rhythm to ensure you’re continuing to grow or, if you prefer, you can just pop in periodically when you hit a stuck spot. Regardless of how often you come to individual EFT Supervision, my goal is to help you move forward and experience a sharpening of your EFT skills with each supervision session. Individual EFT Supervision sessions are 55 minutes long and cost $75 per session.
